Altcoin Season Tracker is an independent crypto market dashboard. It answers one question with data: are altcoins as a group beating Bitcoin right now, or is Bitcoin leading?
What the site does
The core of the site is the Altcoin Season Index, which compares the returns of the 50 largest eligible altcoins against Bitcoin over the same window. Around it sit tools that explain the same market from other angles: Bitcoin dominance, individual altcoin performance against Bitcoin, sector narratives, market sentiment, and a weekly market brief.
Where the numbers come from
Prices, market capitalization, volume and sector membership come from CoinGecko. The site stores its own daily snapshots, so the index history is reproducible and does not shift when the top-50 list changes. The exact rules — which assets are included, which are excluded, and how the score is calculated — are published in the methodology.
How analysis is produced
Dashboards are calculated directly from market data. Recurring written analysis, including the weekly brief and the daily community briefings built from public r/CryptoCurrency discussions, is drafted with AI assistance and published under the editorial policy. Community briefings summarize what people are discussing; they do not verify every claim made in the source threads.
Independence
The site does not accept payment to list, rank or feature a coin, and it does not run sponsored placements inside its market tools. It has no token of its own.
